YOU won’t need to buy an alarm if you move in to one of two new flats above an iconic Dunfermline town centre building.
Sitting at the corner of High Street and Bruce Street, the former Thomas Cook travel agents, Cash Converters and famous Victoria Restaurant, work has started on its revamp.
BNR Developments are set to transform the currently vacant property opposite Dunfermline’s City Chambers.
Liam Boner, director, told the Press: “Imagine the views you will have from your bedroom.
“You’ll have the town clock as an alarm!
“The ground floor will remain as a shop with a full-refit.
“It’s currently a two-storey shop, which has put potential suitors off. There’s not a great demand for that.
“We’re going to be turning the first floor into two one-bedroom flats.
“For Thomas Cook, it worked for them having the business as two-storeys.
“They had the holiday agents on the ground floor and the call centre above it.
“Cash Converters were just using the first floor as a store room and for admin.
“The ground floor is a big shop space, and it would be fair to say a considerable figure is being spent on it.”
