AN exhibition celebrating the photography of the late Fraser Simpson will take place at the Woodside Hotel.

Fraser, a resident of Aberdour until his sudden death in 2017, was a keen caver and traveller. He had a lifelong passion for photography and this exhibition captures poignant images from his travels as well as the dramatic world underground.

‘A Road Less Travelled: a Retrospective Exhibition of the Photographic Works of the late Fraser Simpson’ will take place on July 25 and 26.

Fraser was the elder son of local historian Eric Simpson and grew up in Dalgety Bay, attended Dalgety Primary and Inverkeithing High schools.

He worked in Elena Mae in Dunfermline before studying to become an audio visual technician, spending almost 25 years at Fife College before moving to Fife Cultural Trust shortly before he died.

It was thought he was suffering from a tropical illness from his travels but it turned out to be aggressive cancer. The exhibition has been put together by Fraser’s close friends and students from the college.

Entry is free and some work will be available to purchase, with proceeds going to the Maggie’s Centre in Edinburgh.

The exhibition will be open during the opening hours of the Woodside Hotel.
