A ROSYTH woman has shed more pounds than her pal weighs after fears her kids would be bullied for having an overweight mum.

Hayley Terlecki has lost an incredible nine stones, which is more than friend Rachel weighs, after joining her local Slimming World club three years ago.

She decided to join after ballooning to 23 stones and four pounds.

Inspired to help others, the mum has now trained as a consultant and will be taking over a group in Crossgates on August 28.

Hayley said: "Obesity is becoming such a huge issue across the UK. When I first joined Slimming World as a member, I never dreamed that I would end up helping other people to lose weight but now I just can’t wait to get started.

"After losing nine stones and completing my training, it’s a privilege for me to be able to pass on the experience, insight and understanding that helped me, so that I can give my members the support they need to get to target.

"Like a lot of slimmers, I had tried to lose weight so many times before by following numerous diets but they were never sustainable because I’d always get tired of restricting what I ate.

"But when I came to Slimming World it was different. I never felt like I was on a diet.

"It isn’t just about changing what you eat. Becoming more active is important too.

"Everything counts from walking to gardening to washing the car.

"I love getting active by taking my boys to the park. Before losing weight, I used to spectate from the bench."

Hayley’s Slimming World group will be held at the British Legion in Crossgates every Wednesday at 5.30pm and 7.30pm from August 28.
