DUNFERMLINE Fire Station was ringing with excitement on Saturday when it held its annual open day.

The event included demonstrations from firefighters, the ambulance service and Police Scotland as well as the RNLI Coastguards, while West Fife charities and organisations were also in attendance.

Provost Jim Leishman officially started proceedings, which raised cash for local causes including Andy's Man Club.

Community firefighter Julia Mackenzie was delighted with how the day went.

"We were so lucky with the weather, I couldn't believe it," she said. "It was a really, really good day. We probably had about the same amount of people as we had last year despite our weather worries.

"There were a lot more charities who came along and the ambulance service were there this year as well.

"Everybody seemed to love it. There was a lot of good feedback."
