CULROSS is to become a television set again this week as it hosts the second series of a BBC show.

The village – and its Palace – were used for some of the first series of Rise of the Clans and restrictions will be in place for the second round of filming on Monday and Tuesday.

Road closures will affect areas around West Green, Sandhaven and Main Street, however, access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will still be available.

Community council chairperson Lynne Smith said disruption was not expected to be caused by the latest film crew to come to the village.

"The road being closed is a local access road that runs in front of the Palace so it won't be affecting traffic," she said.

"This time, I don't think it is going to be particularly intrusive. I think there will only be about five people. The presenter is Neil Oliver and I think he just gets filmed talking and they will be in the Palace for most of it.

"Outlander is the one that does disrupt but it is well planned and they make a donation to the village when they come as a gesture for the disruption."

The first series of Rise of the Clans was shown on the BBC in December. The show follows an epic struggle for power in medieval Scotland and is told from the point of view of the feuding clans.
