A KELTY woman is a finalist at an awards night that celebrates inspirational females in the world of business, sport, politics and industry.

Tracey Muirhead, the CEO of the School for Social Entrepreneurs – Scotland, will find out on Wednesday if she's been successful.

Finalists have been shortlisted based on public nominations and she's up for the Social Leader of the Year at the Scottish Women's Awards 2019 in Glasgow.

She said: “We equip people to transform their communities and improve the lives of others through our action learning programmes.

"To be nominated for the social leader category is a huge accolade for not only myself but to our students, fellows and partners who have supported our programmes over the years.”

The awards are now in their third year and recognise and celebrate Scottish female talent, highlighting the achievements of women across sectors of industry, including business, sport, technology, management and charity.

The School for Social Entrepreneurs aims to help people develop the skills, strengths and networks they need to tackle society’s biggest problems. It runs courses that equip people to start, scale and strengthen organisations that make a positive difference.
