ANDY'S Man Club in Dunfermline was boosted by a bumper donation of more than £6,000 this week.

The cash was raised by Lochgelly woman Carmen Duff and her family in memory of her son, Robbie McArthur, who died earlier this year at the age of 18.

A total of £6,099.39 was collected through a tombola and raffle as well as a stall at the recent Lochgelly Gala.

Carmen was helped in her efforts by daughter Remi Haddow and best friend Pamela Wilson.

"We were at a loose end after Robbie was buried and we needed to do something," said Carmen. "We wanted to try and help other people and prevent their families from going through hell so we were trying to think of a few things. It has kept us going and kept our minds occupied.

"The local people have been amazing. The prizes that were donated and the amount of raffle tickets sold was amazing. We had a stall at the gala and were busy all day.

"My son was known by everyone and everyone has just been amazing.

"We chose Andy's Man Club because it isn't just mental health that it deals with. It is open to any man for any reason at all. They don't have to have mental health problems to go to it. They may just need to speak to someone."
