TESCO have reduced the amount of time allowed for parking at their Dunfermline town centre superstore.

As of yesterday (Tuesday, October 1), shoppers can now only stay at the Winterthur Lane supermarket for two hours instead of three.

A notice was posted within the car park informing drivers of the decision.

A statement said: "We've listened to your feedback about the car park system and made some changes.

"To ensure we provide you with the maximum number of spaces, this car park will be moving to a two hour maximum stay from October 1, 2019."

Parking is currently free for shoppers to use at the store.

The three-hour waiting restriction was first announced in November 2015 after users were claimed to be abusing the site as they parked there before shopping elsewhere.

The system relies on number plate technology to monitor the length of time drivers have stayed for.
