AWARD-WINNING Dunfermline hairdresser Douglas Barr showcased his stand-out style at a star-studded awards ceremony this week.

The 60-year-old took to the stage to receive his category prize for the Vintage Inspired Award at the glamorous Specsavers’ Spectacle Wearer of the Year awards ceremony.

The ceremony was hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal with support from award ambassador, Oti Mabuse, in London and raised funds for anti-bullying charity Kidscape.

Douglas, owner of Sheds in Guildhall Street, received his award from fellow specs wearer and British fashion designer Patrick Grant. He said: "I had a fantastic time at the awards ceremony in London and was delighted to receive the Vintage Inspired Award.

"It was a real honour to represent Dunfermline and Scotland and be part of an awards that encourages glasses-wearers to embrace their specs and see them as an opportunity to express your own unique style."

The event raised £100,000 from award entries, sponsorship, ticket sales and luxury raffle with all proceeds going to Kidscape, bringing the total raised by Specsavers for the charity in the last 11 years to more than £700,000.
