THE Royal Bengal in Dunfermline is proving it’s king of the curries after being shortlisted for two top awards.
The Pittencrieff Street restaurant is just one of eight eateries that will battle it out for the ‘Best Asian Restaurant in Scotland’ at the the Asian Curry Awards 2019, which will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on November 15.
The Royal Bengal will also compete in a cook-off against 20 other restaurants across the country for the grand final of the Spice Awards in Glasgow the following day.
Owner Mashok Miah said: “It’s a shock to hear that we’re up against just eight restaurants in Scotland – I had no idea; especially as the Asian Curry Awards cover the whole of the UK. We can’t complain!
“However, we are really looking forward to the Spice Awards. That competition really feels like it's about the quality of food and not a popularity contest.
“We’ll have to cook a starter and main for the judges.
“We really think we can do well.”
