A CAR has collided with a lamppost following an accident in Rosyth this morning.

Police, ambulance and fire services were believed to have been called to the incident shortly after 8am.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Press that they received a call to attend at 8.15am, and confirmed that there had been no serious injuries, while the vehicle's recovery was to be arranged.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 8.27am on Friday, October 8 to reports of smoke issuing from a car on Primrose Lane, Rosyth.

“Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance to the scene, where crews made the area safe.

“They left at 8.44am.”

There have been a number of reported incidents on Fife's roads throughout the morning, with black ice thought to be a main contributing factor.
