A MAN has been charged with road traffic offences following a road traffic collision in West Fife on Saturday night.

A woman had to be cut from one of the cars by firefighters after the two vehicle collision on the A994 between Cairneyhill and Crossford.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 10.11pm on Saturday, November 9 to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles between the Fife towns of Crossford and Cairneyhill.

“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances to the A994, where firefighters used cutting equipment to help remove one trapped casualty from a vehicle.

“The casualty was thereafter passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“A total of three casualties were transferred to Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital by paramedics.

“Firefighters left the scene after making the area safe.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: “Two people received minor injuries. A 34 year old man has been charged with road traffic offences."

The road was reopened just after midnight.
