A 15-YEAR-OLD had a seizure and collapsed after taking a psychedelic class A drug supplied by a friend in Dunfermline.

The boy had to be rushed to hospital and was kept in for observation.

The incident resulted in John Binnie, 19, of Cameron Grove, Inverkeithing, appearing for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He previously admitted that on October 27 last year, at Lauder Street, Dunfermline, he supplied a class A drug, namely 2C-B, to two people there.

Depute fiscal Laura McManus said Binnie had bought three tablets of the drug for himself and two others.

The 15-year-old began to have a seizure at 10pm. An ambulance was called and the boy was kept in the Victoria Hospital overnight. He made a full recovery.

Defence solicitor Chris Sneddon said of his client: β€œHe’s in no doubt about the seriousness of the matter but he has no previous convictions.”

Sheriff Charles MacNair imposed a community payback order with 160 hours of unpaid work.
