A 65-YEAR-OLD Dunfermline man downloaded more than 1,400 indecent images of children.
John Mackintosh, formerly of Helmsdale Park and now of Grangeburn Road, Grangemouth, committed the offences over an 18-month period.
Mackintosh appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that between August 9, 2017, and February 19 this year at an address in Helmsdale Park, Dunfermline, he downloaded indecent photographs of children.
Depute fiscal Claire Bremner said police executed a search warrant at Mackintosh’s home at 7.50am.
Several computer items were seized and removed for investigations to be carried out.
It was later discovered that 15 category ‘A’, 66 category ‘B’ and 1,362 category ‘C’ images had been downloaded.
Sheriff Alastair Brown called for reports and Mackintosh will be sentenced on December 18. He has been put on the sex offenders' register.
