A 52-year-old man has appeared in court for domestic offences committed against his ex-partner in Halbeath.

The victim was pushed, prodded and scratched during a catalogue of abuse.

In the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court was Stuart McLean, now of the Valley Accommodation Unit, Valley Gardens, Kirkcaldy.

He admitted that between January 1, 2017 and March 31, 2019 at his then home at Fod Street, Halbeath, he acted aggressively towards his partner, repeatedly shouted, swore and used offensive language towards her.

He also admitted that between April 1 and August 12 this year, he engaged in a course of conduct which was abusive towards his partner.

He acted aggressively, repeatedly shouted, swore, used offensive language towards her, repeatedly pushed, prodded and scratched her, assaulting her to her injury, sent text messages of an abusive nature and threatened to commit suicide or to self-harm.

McLean further admitted a breach of bail conditions.

Sheriff James MacDonald called for reports and McLean will be sentenced on December 18.
