A MAN is in a "serious condition" after he was hit by a vehicle on Halbeath Road yesterday (Sunday).
Emergency services raced to the scene just before 5.30pm after the male, believed to be in his 40s, was struck by a black Hyundai Tucson car close to Fife College.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said he was taken by ambulance to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he remains for treatment.
"His condition is described by medical staff as serious but not life threatening," said the spokesperson. "The 70 year old male driver of the Tucson and his 69 year-old female passenger were not injured.
"Enquiries into the crash are continuing."
The road was closed for approximately six hours while the road was cleared and investigations took place.
