BREACHING bail conditions and causing a disturbance at his former partner's home led to Dunfermline man Robert Muir being placed on a tag.

Appearing after breaching his community payback order, Muir, of McClelland Crescent, had previously admitted that on April 10 last year, at a house in St Margaret's Well, he breached a condition given to him at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on April 10 that he did not approach or contact – or attempt to contact – his former partner.

On September 5 last year, he also behaved in a threatening or abusive manner when he shouted, swore and acted in an aggressive manner towards his former partner.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said neighbours saw and heard Muir at the woman's house although she was not in.

On September 5, the former partner saw him at the front door then the back door. An argument took place between the two and he was arrested.

Solicitor James Moncrieff said his client had separated from his ex-partner and found out his dog had died and he had not been told about it.

"He accepts thereafter he became annoyed," he said. "He appreciates the difficulty he has placed himself in by breaching his previous order."

Sheriff Alistair Brown placed Muir on a restriction of liberty order for three months.

He told him: "When the court makes an order, you obey it. If you don't, you get into more trouble."
