A TEENAGER was arrested over a Facebook post which breached a non-harassment order imposed just days before.

Jake Henderson, 18, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

Henderson, of Valley Accommodation, Valley Gardens, Kirkcaldy, admitted that having been made subject to a non-harassment order on December 18, which required him not to contact a teenage girl, he breached this on December 31 by sending her a message via social media and commented on her social media profile.

The 16-year-old girl, who is protected by the order, was punched repeatedly by Henderson during an incident in Dunfermline last year.

The court was told that the victim had noticed Henderson had responded to one of her Facebook posts and contacted the police.

Henderson told officers: “It was just silly.”

Sheriff Alastair Brown warned Henderson he was considering imposing a custodial sentence.

He called for reports and granted bail until sentencing on February 5. The sheriff warned Henderson against any repeat offence saying: “You leave her alone.”
