THE photograph of the horse and cart above was taken around 1916 at the Upper Station in Dunfermline which was situated on the site now occupied by the B&Q store opposite the Kingsgate Shopping Centre in Carnegie Drive. The possibility of the Robin's Cinema building in East Port being renovated and returned to use as a cinema has been raised by the Dunfermline Regeneration Trust following the Press Take Action! campaign highlighting expensive ticket prices at Dunfermline's Odeon cinema. The image below shows the building that occupied that site prior to the cinema being built, Thomas Donald tailor's shop. More photographs like these can be seen in Dunfermline Carnegie Library and Galleries, where 'Old Dunfermline' DVDs are on sale in the shop, and also on facebook.com/olddunfermline
