THE Drouthy Fox in Dunfermline has closed with bar workers claiming they've been left in the lurch by their bosses.

A Facebook post yesterday, in the name of three members of staff, said they have not been paid and customers "deserve an explanation" as to why the doors have been shut at the Guildhall Street pub for the last week.

It said: "The tenants (our bosses) have decided to give up on the business.

"This is unfortunate as, as employees, we have lost our jobs and have not been paid for shifts over the Christmas period.

"So it hasn't been a great start to the year for us."

A message on the pub's website said: "Due to operational issues Drouthy Fox will no longer be trading. "Customers who purchased vouchers, please contact paypal, itison, groupon or 5pm to request a refund.

"Please email drouthyfox@gmail.com for a refund if vouchers were purchased in the restaurant."

Formerly called Somewhere Else, the bar was refurbished and re-branded as a gastropub with a particular focus on good food, afternoon teas and cocktails. Drouthy Fox opened in April last year.

The Press has tried to contact the tenants to find out more.
