McDONALD’S have confirmed they hope to open a new restaurant on the car park of the Tesco Extra in Duloch next year.

If approved, it’s thought the new outlet could create up to 90 jobs.

At present, they have not asked Fife Council for planning permission but are seeking advertising consent for a number of signs which will be needed for a new restaurant, with drawings showing it in the northern section of the Tesco car park, just across from the Aldi store, complete with a new digital drive-thru.

A McDonald’s spokesman said: “We can confirm an application has been submitted; it’s very early days in the planning process but all going well, we’d aim to open the restaurant some time in 2021.

"Of course, that’s entirely dependent on the speed of the planning process.

"In terms of job numbers, I’d estimate anything between 70-90 jobs created.”

McDonald’s are also hoping to add a digital drive-thru at their current outlet at Fife Leisure Park.
