A ROW over loud music at a homeless hostel led to a resident taking matters into his own hands and being arrested.
William Kinninmonth, 34, now of no fixed abode, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on Saturday, at the James Bank Hostel, James Street, Dunfermline, he struck a door repeatedly with a metal object, causing damage to it.
Depute fiscal Freya Anderson said the incident was caught on CCTV with Kinninmonth battering the door.
Police were called and Kinninmonth told them: “I only done it because they were playing music.”
Defence solicitor Roshni Joshi said: “It’s his position that music was being played throughout the day and into the evening. It had been reported but he says nothing was done. He accepts he then took matters into his own hands.”
Sheriff Robert Dickson fined Kinninmonth £200.
