A DUNFERMLINE man has been jailed for a string of offences towards police officers.

George Gordon Bowe, 51, of Adamson Crescent, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on January 6, at Dunfermline police station and in a police van from St Leonard's Street, he acted aggressively, shouted and swore repeatedly, spat, threatened to spit on police officers, made abusive remarks, struggled with police and made threats of violence and sexual violence towards police officers.

At Dunfermline police station, he assaulted a police officer by attempting to kick him.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said police were called to Dunfermline bus station at 7.15pm.

“He was belligerent towards the police and claimed that a bus driver had assaulted him. He was arrested and taken to the police station,” said the depute.

Bowe said to a female officer: “I’ll follow you home and rape you.”

He also admitted that on October 19, at Binning Road, Inverkeithing, and Dunfermline police station, he shouted, swore and made threats of violence and threw a cereal bar at a custody support officer which struck her on the face to her injury.

He resisted two police officers, tensed his arms and refused to be handcuffed.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said: “He knows his behaviour was unacceptable and unpleasant. It’s clear he has issues with police.”

Sheriff James MacDonald jailed Bowe for 18 weeks.
