WEST Fifers are being warned to expect high winds this weekend.
The Met office has issued a yellow weather warning and says very strong winds may hit the majority of the country on Saturday and Sunday.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Very strong winds are likely across much of the UK later Saturday and through Sunday. Gusts of 50 to 60 mph are likely across many inland areas, with gusts 70, possibly 80 mph around some exposed coasts and hills."
Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are expected while coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities could be affected by spray and/or large waves.
They say there is a "small chance" that some roads and bridges could close and a "slight chance" that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
Householders are also warned of a "slight chance" of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs.
