TEEN Scene Parties has won a judgement against the Bradford Bulls over the last-minute cancellation of their event at Odsal stadium last summer.

A judge at Bradford County Court ruled on January 24 that the Bulls should repay a deposit and costs to the firm, believed to be about £2,500, over a breach in the hire contract.

The event was cancelled by the Bulls after the Public Safety Liaison Group raised concerns over it.

A statement on Teen Scene Parties’ website said they were happy with the judgment and felt vindicated for taking the case to court.

Mark Kilgallon, director of Bradford Bulls, said: “An event agreed to be held at Odsal by the previous club management in August 2019, could not take place upon the advice of the Council’s Safety Team which controls public activities at the venue.

“The Public Safety Liaison Group, which is made up of the Police, Ambulance, Council Safety Officers and other interested parties, had advised cancellation as they felt that the event could not be managed safely as a number of significant key elements and plans were not in place.

“The court has now determined that, given the circumstances, the promoters’ deposit should be returned and we are very happy to comply.”

Teen Scene Parties thanked the "understanding followers" of the organisation.

Their next event is a Valentine’s Vibes night at Rio Grande, which has been the home of the organisation for the past year, on Friday, February 14.
