THE Clackmannanshire Bridge is to close too – with a month's worth of roadworks to come.

The second newest Forth crossing will be shut overnight, from 8pm to 6am, for essential maintenance from Monday March 23 to Friday April 24.

It will be open as normal outwith these times.

The scheme will replace the existing expansion joints on the bridge and there will be associated concrete repairs, waterproofing and resurfacing.

Operating company Amey said the work requires full overnight closures of the A876 at this location, with a signed diversion in operation.

Northbound traffic travelling from the M876 / A876 Bowtrees Junction will be diverted via the eastbound A985 Kincardine Bridge to Longannet Roundabout, and from here will join the westbound A977 towards Kilbagie Roundabout where the diversion will end.

Southbound traffic travelling from Kilbagie Roundabout will be diverted via the eastbound A977 to Longannet Roundabout to join the westbound A985 Kincardine Bridge to Higgins Neuk Roundabout where the diversion will end.

This scheme has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, bus operating companies, road hauliers, Clackmannanshire, Fife, Stirling and Falkirk councils.

Amey added that the schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
