AN INVERKEITHING teenager has appeared in court following an incident where he grabbed and pushed his 72-year-old grandad.

Aiden Cuthbert became upset after being asked to get out of bed at four o’clock in the afternoon.

Cuthbert, 18, now of Spencerfield Road, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on October 22, at an address in Inverkeithing, he seized hold of his grandad and pushed him on the body repeatedly.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said that Cuthbert had been staying with his grandparents at the time.

At 4pm, Cuthbert was in his bed and his grandfather told him to get up.

“When he got out of bed, he wasn’t happy,” added the depute.

There was a confrontation with his grandad, who was then pushed by Cuthbert. His grandad left the house to phone the police.

Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said: “He’s heard from the grapevine that his grandfather has forgiven him.”

Sheriff Alastair Brown called for reports and Cuthbert will be sentenced on March 11.
