A DUNFERMLINE restaurant is out to prove that their cuisine is the best in the UK.

Antioch Restaurant, on Bridge Street, is a finalist at this year's British Kebab Awards 2020.

The Turkish venue has already proved in the past few months that their food and customer services takes some beating after a recent Scottish triumph.

The restaurant was named the Best Turkish Restaurant in Scotland at the Scottish Asian Food Awards for 2019.

Antioch is now competing in the 'Best Kebab House in Scotland' category in the Kebab Awards and, should they win, they will then compete for the grand prize.

Owner Nihat Oymak is delighted to be nominated and is in a confident mood going into the awards, which take place next month.

He said: "I'm very proud. We have high-quality food and our service is the very best.

"Our head chef, Emin Tatli, is very experienced and he's always learning and upgrading himself. He always says that there's no age limit on learning. He's very good.

"And our manager, Erika Jakšytė, is class. She's also our head waitress, so she really cares for the customers as soon as they come in.

"We've already beaten the rest of Scotland at the Asian Food Awards so I'm very confident we can win in our category at the Kebab Awards.

"We're very proud to be here in Dunfermline and to represent the town."

The British Kebab Awards will take place at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London on Tuesday, March 3.
