A DUNFERMLINE man has appeared in court for abusive behaviour towards members of the public after he had been drinking following a funeral.
In the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court was Kyle Paterson, 28, of Golfdrum Street.
He admitted that on January 18, at Chalmers Street, Dunfermline, he shouted at the occupants of a car, then approached another vehicle and shouted and gestured in an abusive manner at the occupants.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said: “The accused shouted at the occupants of the first vehicle. An elderly lady in the car became upset as the accused was screaming at her.”
He then made an abusive gesture to the occupants of another vehicle and shouted: “What are you going to do, man?”
Defence solicitor Roshni Joshi said her client had been at his cousin’s funeral on the day of the offence and had been consuming alcohol. She said another relative had passed away the previous week and it was a “very unfortunate set of circumstances”.
She added: “He apologises for the upset caused.”
Sheriff James MacDonald fined Paterson £150.
