IT'S changing rooms at a Dunfermline hotel with members of the public asked to help just married couples "feel really special".

The Garvock House Hotel is throwing the doors open one of its bridal suites and asking their online fans to completely redesign its interior.

With refurbishment planned for several bedrooms at the four star establishment, owners Pamela and Rui Fernandes thought it would be a novel idea to ask its social media followers to get creative with the redecorating.

“We could easily have just picked an interior design scheme ourselves,” said Pamela.

“We’ve worked with a number of different designers over the years and certainly know what we like. "It has always been a case of trying to choose decor that is inkeeping with the fact that we are a listed Georgian building– its classic styling for us retaining character features.

"But with a contemporary twist too.”

And they're ready to be brave and try something completely different.

Pamela added: “We suggested that some people may want to see a glam and glitzy theme in the room, or something more muted with a sophisticated palette of neutrals.

"Another idea was a Downton Abbey 1920’s vibe, which certainly seem to be very popular in bridal trends at the moment.

“We certainly want to make the room stand out from the crowd and are open to any suggestions.

"But we think it’s also important to stress that the room must make bridal couples feel really special when they stay in it.

“I suppose it’s capturing the essence of that, through soft furnishings, accessories, colour scheme, and furniture choice.”
