THESE two photographs were sent in by Press reader Ian Ross.

The first image shows the two paddling pools that were located side by side in the Glen outside Pittencrieff House.

Just how popular they were for generations of young people can be seen by how many people there are in the photograph.

The second of Ian's photographs shows one of the putting greens that were located just behind the Carnegie Hall beside the road that ran down through the Public Park before the dual carriageway was constructed that runs through the park today.

One of the disadvantages of over-hitting the ball on such a slope was that there was a very good chance the ball would bounce all the way down the hill to the Lower Railway Station!
