THE injuries sustained by a police officer involved in a serious crash on the A92 near Crossgates are not believed to be life threatening.
An update from Police Scotland said: "The officer has been assessed & is thankfully not believed to have any life-threatening injuries. However, he remains in hospital for observations.
"Thank you for all the supportive messages.
"Enquiries continue & anyone who witnessed this can call 101 and quote 1746 of 27 Feb."
Emergency services raced to the scene at around 1.40pm on Thursday after the incident on the westbound carriageway between Crossgates and Cowdenbeath.
The officer was airlifted to hospital and drivers were asked to avoid the area while recovery and investigation work took place.
The officer has been assessed & is thankfully not believed to have any life-threatening injuries. However, he remains in hospital for observations.
