TRAFFIC close to two Dunfermline primary schools is set to improve after councillors agreed to traffic restrictions.
Double yellow lines are to be introduced on Bannoch Brae, which is close to Commercial and St Margaret's primary schools.
At their meeting on Tuesday, members of the City of Dunfermline area committee agreed to promote a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) which will see double yellow lines added on both sides of the road at the start of Bannoch Brae.
Committee convener, Councillor Helen Law, said the decision was the right one to keep everyone safe.
“Bannoch Brae is extremely narrow and when drivers park on the side of the road or on the grass verge to drop their children off at the nearby primary schools, they cause an obstruction for others trying to get in and out of the street," she said.
"Not only do they cause an obstruction but they’ve also damaged the grass verge and neighbouring gardens which simply isn’t acceptable.”
