FURTHER parking regulations are set to be introduced in a busy Dunfermline street.
A two-hour waiting restriction was first put in place in Monastery Street in September 2017, however, double yellow lines were not added to the road opposite the existing parking bays.
In a report to the City of Dunfermline area committee, head of assets, transportation and environment, Ken Gourlay, said they hoped the proposed measure would improve traffic issues in the street.
"The road is narrow but drivers park along the road rather than in the bays or in the fee-paying car parks," he explained. "Drivers attempting to park in the parking bays are having difficulties because of the vehicles parked opposite.
"The residents of Monastery Street are eligible to apply for residents' parking permits which allow them to park in the two-hour bays all day or in the fee-paying car parks in St Margaret Street or the Carnegie Birthplace car park."
Councillors agreed to promote the traffic management order so the additional restriction can be introduced.
City of Dunfermline area committee convener, Councillor Helen Law, said: “This is a very narrow road and people trying to avoid using the bays due to the two-hour limited waiting restrictions or paying to park are causing havoc," she added.
