Fife College chiefs have decided to suspend all face-to-face teaching from tonight (Wednesday).
They announced the move this afternoon in an attempt to protect students and staff.
Campuses will remain open until Friday so students can get access to advise and resources.
A website statement reads: "In response to the latest guidance from Government, we have taken the decision to suspend all face to face teaching, in all of our campuses, from the end of today, 9 pm.
"The College will remain open until Friday, 20 March at 6pm to ensure you have access to any further advice and resources as we transition to home study where that is feasible.
"Some students will also be involved in prelims etc over the next couple of days which will involve attending campus.
"If that applies to you, your lecturer/named contact will have been in touch with you already to confirm the specific arrangements.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding. We recognise that there is a lot of anxiety over how the coronavirus is impacting all of our lives and we are keen to do all that we can to minimise your concerns."
