ASDA'S Halbeath store has confirmed that it is cutting its opening hours in order to help staff deal with rapidly-emptying shelves.

The store was open 24 hours but will now open from 6am to midnight, Monday to Sunday.

The store stated: "To help manage our stores at this time, stores will be changing their opening times to help fill our shelves to meet the increased demand.

Panic-buying has led to the store selling out of hygiene products such as hand sanitisers, as well as toilet rolls, pasta, paracetamol and most fresh meat.
