A DUNFERMLINE man caused a disturbance at his girlfriend’s home and smashed a glass door.

Joshua McBeath, 20, of Macbeth Road, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on August 25, he shouted, swore and acted aggressively towards his partner and damaged glass panels in a door.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said the couple had been in a relationship for six months.

“They went out in Dunfermline socialising and the accused consumed a large amount of alcohol. He became argumentative about the way she was dressed and the people she’d been speaking to.

“At around 4am, they went home along with a friend and the accused fell asleep.

“At around 6.30am, he woke up and again became argumentative about what had happened the night before. He then broke some glass panels in the front door as he left.”

Police arrived and found the woman “quite distressed”. They saw McBeath nearby and he ran away. Police chased and arrested him.

Sheriff Alastair Brown called for reports and McBeath will be sentenced on April 30.
