DEBENHAMS in Dunfermline is set to temporarily close from 4pm today (Monday).
The retail giant has announced that all of its 153 UK stores will shut, including their Kingsgate Shopping Centre store.
They said it was a "tough decision" to make, but have done so to protect the health of their staff and customers in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
A statement from Debenhams this morning stated: "Debenhams has taken the tough decision that due to the current circumstances we will temporarily close our UK and Republic of Ireland stores for trading from 4pm today.
"Throughout these very difficult times, the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues and customers has been of paramount importance.
"Our store colleagues have continued to demonstrate the highest professionalism and commitment and we will be working with them to support them through this process.
"We hope to be able to reopen as soon as is practically and safely possible."
Customers can still shop with Debenhams online.
