LULA the staffie is bringing smiles to children's faces in Rosyth by performing a series of tricks during lunchtime.

Accompanied by her owner, Sarah Johnston, the lovely Lula is spreading some cheer every day on her afternoon walk at 1pm.

Sarah is dedicating her one hour of daily lockdown exercise to raising money for charity with Lula taking centre stage around the town.

She said: "I got the idea after taking Lula out for our first proper walk in nearly two weeks due to self-isolating after having flu symptoms.

"It brightened my day to see the kids' rainbows up in the windows as I took Lula on a very excitable walk in her own rainbow harness.

"I'd love to return the favour.

"On our walk earlier, a little girl on a tricycle spotted us and shouted: 'Mummy look, there's a doggy!'

"I waved and said hello to her and her mum at a distance and then made her laugh by doing tricks with Lula as she looked on across the street shrieking with happiness.

"After walking another 10 minutes, we spotted two more toddlers in their living room window. So I waved and did some tricks with Lula to make them smile and they began jumping about and waving back."

Sarah, 36, works for CHAS (Children's Hospices Across Scotland) as a trust fundraiser and has so far received £220 of donations for the charity through her Lunchtime With Lula initiative.

She said: "I've only worked with them for a few months but I can't imagine working anywhere else.

"The work they do, not just for the children, but for their siblings and family members as well, is incredible."

While Lula may not be "Britain's Got Talent standard", Sarah says she's already lifted spirits in the town.

She said: "Staffies can get a bad reputation but Lula loves kids and she has so much energy.

"She's a rescue dog and I can't imagine not having her.

"She definitely keeps me on my toes and she's learning more tricks now.

"I think everyone is feeling the impact of this awful situation we're all in, so if Lula and I can help raise a smile and bring some joy, then it's definitely worth doing."
