POLICE are searching for a driver who hit a cyclist in Dalgety Bay and failed to stop.
The collision left the female cyclist needing to go to hospital due to multiple injuries to her body.
Police say the woman was hit by driver in a silver Ford Focus on Saturday afternoon and are appealing for any information to contact them.
Local reports suggest that the driver stopped and got out of his vehicle for a few moments before driving off over a pavement to get away.
Locals then came to the aid of the cyclist, who was taken to Victoria Hospital for injuries to her leg, arm and face.
Sergeant Scott Maxwell, of Dalgety Bay Police Station, said: “On Saturday, 25th April, officers received report of a cyclist being struck by a car on Harbour Drive at the roundabout with Chandlers Rise, Dalgety Bay.
“The incident happened around 3.15pm when a 22-year-old woman on a bicycle was struck by a silver Ford Focus which failed to stop.
“The woman was taken to Victoria Hospital where she was treated for leg, arm and facial injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2606 of 25th April.”
