THE Duloch Spiderman has turned into the Incredible Hulk after he was forced to give up us his running shoes!

Dave Roper, 36, has run so many miles over the last several weeks that his knees are "wrecked".

But never one to throw in the towel, the Dunfermline dad has reinvented himself into the Hulk to make sure he can keep bringing some cheer to kids' faces during lockdown.

After running around 310 miles in the last two months, Dave has raised almost £5,000 for Calaiswood School, where his autistic son, Liam, attends.

He said: "It's incredible to think I set a goal of £100 and that was just because someone asked if I was fundraising!

"A lot of the runners who also joined in the area have also shared my fundraising which has just been amazing.

"Unfortunately, I've wrecked my knees so I had to stop running last Friday.

"I think I've done 310 miles now which is more than I ran in 2018 and 2019 combined!

"I had a social distance physio session in the garden and I was told I had to give my knees a rest for at least a couple of weeks so I decided to order a new costume and go for a walk!"

Since the change, dad-of-two Dave has been bombarded with messages again on his ‘Duloch Spiderman’ page where the community post their videos and photos of him pounding the streets.

"I think it has revitalised it a bit!" Dave added.

"It really has been such a fun thing to do. What I thought would be for a few weeks has turned into quite a long time! That's probably why my knees have gone!

"I've been supported by Tesco's on Aberdour Road and they've collected about £185. The community support has just been phenomenal!"
