A MAN is being treated in hospital after being found by emergency services in the River Forth near Kincardine yesterday morning.

Police were made aware of concern for a person after a vehicle was found abandoned at the Clackmannanshire Bridge shortly before 6.30am.

Both the Clackmannanshire and Kincardine bridges were shut by officers as they responded to the incident, which saw the man recovered from the water.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers were made aware of concern for a person after a vehicle was found unattended at the Clackmannanshire Bridge around 6.25am on Wednesday, May 27.

"A man was found in the River Forth a short time later and was returned to the shore by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with the aid of HM Coastguard.

"He was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to Forth Valley Hospital for treatment."

Both bridges had reopened to traffic by 8.50am yesterday morning.
