A GREAT-GRAN from Rosyth has been cheering up her siblings near and far who have been alone during lockdown with some inventive costumes!

Yvonne Love, 71, of Admiralty Road, and her two sisters and brother have a dedicated family chat every day online to combat the loneliness.

And, to keep spirits high, she has been making outfits out of anything she can find in her house to put a smile on their faces.

One of her sisters lives in Hampshire and the rest of her siblings live in Rosyth but they all live alone.

From pirates to mermaids, Yvonne has proved there are plenty of creative ideas for fancy dress all around your home!

Her niece Fiona Butler, who lives down in England, told the Press: "My amazing Auntie Yvonne has kept up the spirits of her family who are all staying safe at home during the coronavirus lockdown.

"I think my favourite outfit is the mermaid – she goes to some effort to think of something every day!

"My Auntie Yvonne is a wonderful woman, they broke the mould when they made her.

"She is mother to four, grandmother to seven and great-grandmother to seven, all at a beautiful 71-years-old.

"She is well-known around Rosyth; you can't walk down the street without people stopping to chat!

"She is two years widowed yet she is such an inspiration and brings sunshine to so many."

Yvonne said: "People ask where I find this stuff but when you've got grandchildren you've got to have plenty of crafts in the house!

"All one of my sisters is down south, we normally see each other pretty much every day so it's been very strange.

"It started when my sister asked me why I had green in my hair?

"I had no idea what she was going on about so the next day I found some pink hairspray and put that on instead.

"It's all been a bit of fun while we're stuck in the house.

"We're all pensioners but we have to be silly at times!"
