A 10-year-old boy who died after getting into difficulty in a loch near Callander has been identified by police.
Michael Heeps, from High Valleyfield, passed away following an incident in Loch Lubnaig yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon.
Emergency services were called at around 5.35pm to reports of a child experiencing difficulty in the water.
Paying tribute, through Police Scotland, Michael's family said: "He was a much loved son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin."
His death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
