A WEST FIFE road was temporarily closed this morning after a car went on fire.
The vehicle had been travelling on the A921, between the roundabout at Harbour Drive, Dalgety Bay, and Hillend Road, Inverkeithing, went it went ablaze.
The incident took place after 9am this morning and, after emergency services raced to the scene, the road was shut in both directions, with oil having also spilled onto to the tarmac.
Within the last hour, however, one lane has re-opened but police are urging motorists to take an alternative route.
Fire crews have now left the scene and it has been confirmed that there have been no injuries.
One lane is now open but traffic will continue to build in both directions. Again, please avoid the area and use an alternative route if possible. @fire_scot have left the scene. Pleased to report no injuries 👍. pic.twitter.com/ab74oIRxnA
