POLICE have launched an investigation following an attempted break-in at a bank in Dunfermline.
Officers were called to the Bank of Scotland's Bothwell Street branch yesterday (Wednesday) morning after receiving reports of someone trying to force entry to the premises.
The incident happened shortly after 9am but those attempting to break-in were unsuccessful, with nothing being taken.
The building, however, remained closed throughout the day and was taped off by police.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers received a call at 9.10am on Wednesday, July 8, reporting the attempted break in at the Bank of Scotland branch in Bothwell Street.
"Those responsible for the attempt failed to gain entry to the building and officers are continuing with their enquiries."
