THE Dunfermline branch of Frankie & Benny's has been saved from closure.

The owner of the restaurant chain, The Restaurant Group (TRG), announced previously as many as 120 sites could close as part of restructuring plans.

However, the Fife Leisure Park family diner is set to re-open after being made safe from the axe.

A spokesperson at Frankie & Benny’s said: "We are delighted to confirm this site will be re-opening in due course for our guests.

"Please look out for further announcements on our social media channels and website as to when exactly we will be open.”

The Dunfermline restaurant had faced uncertainty prior to the coronavirus outbreak as TRG announced in February that they were looking to close up to 90 of their premises in the next two years, including Frankie & Benny’s and Mexican restaurant Chiquito’s, which is also based at Fife Leisure Park.

The future of Dunfermline's Chiquito's remains unknown with TRG saying they were unable to comment on individual sites.
