A DUNFERMLINE business owner has won a top award in hairdressing and will get the chance to compete in a UK final.

Keira Campbell-Sharp, who owns Bespoke Colour House on the New Row, has just been announced as one of the winners of the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award 2020 UK Regionals.

The competition had a new format for 2020, with amendments made so that it could still go ahead, despite COVID-19.

Keira, who has been a hairdresser for the last 16 years, told the Press: "TrendVision is one of the most iconic competitions in the hairdressing industry so it's just amazing to get the recognition!

"It's so nice to be representing Dunfermline for the UK final.

"We're not sure when that is yet as it's normally in September but plans have had to change.

"I've been involved in the competition before and made it through the heats but never actually picked up an award at the regionals.

"It's great to go even further in the competition now."

There were five new categories, all of which were entered via Instagram.

The lucky finalists had to make it through the initial first photographic stage of the competition, before competing at the Digital UK Regional & Ireland heats online where, normally, their models would take to the catwalk.

Competitors for the UK and Ireland finals will be required to create a whole new look, with extensive work required to support each submission.

Partner Brett Sharp said: "Keira should be very proud to have reached this stage. This competition is incredibly tough and there were more entries than ever before this year. Reaching the final shows pure talent and skill."
