FIVE jobs have been lost at Barrhead Travel's branch in Duloch, the Press understands.

The travel agent announced recently that they would be “making the redundancies across a number of areas in the business and locations across our network”.

When asked by the Press last week whether staff at the Duloch Park branch would be affected, the firm said they were unable to comment on individual or specific locations.

A source has since contacted the Press to reveal that five people were let go from the travel agent on Turnstone Road.

Barrhead Travel could not respond in relation to Duloch's job losses when asked by the Press this week as they are unable to comment on individual or specific locations.

Jacqueline Dobson, president of Barrhead Travel, previously stated: "In common with many others in our industry, we are having to make difficult decisions as a direct result of the impact of Covid-19 on holidays.

“Customer confidence has been dented by the ongoing uncertainty surrounding quarantine and travel restrictions. This, combined with the imminent closure of the furlough scheme, means we have had to announce a number of redundancies.

“We will be ensuring that there is full support available for all our colleagues – personally and professionally – over the coming months.”
