THE search for missing Rosyth man Keith MacGregor has ended in tragedy after his body was discovered at the weekend.

Police Scotland confirmed that a body was found in a woodland near Thornton on Saturday and that the family of the 35-year-old had been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a man was found today (Saturday, July 18) at woodland near Thornton.

"The family of missing person Keith MacGregor have been informed. There are no suspicious circumstances."

He had last been seen in Overton Mains, Kirkcaldy, at around 3pm on Thursday.

A police appeal had been launched last week in an effort to trace him with the force liaising with British Transport Police and local bus, train and taxi services.
